Welcome to Gert Broekema
I am a Dutch designer based in Denmark who makes bespoke leather products, unique home furnishings and follow my passion in creating anything which inspires me. I have worked for a long time in the film industry, both in Los Angeles and Amsterdam and moved to Denmark to pursue another passion of mine, working with leather. I take great pride in making each piece, one at a time. It is all about creating something that makes you, and me feel special. It is about design and craftmanship creating a story, like a film.
A personal story, which I believe is a reflection of our own unique personal life and style.

I’ve always enjoyed making things with my hands. There’s something really satisfying about turning an idea into a reality. I enjoy coming up with new ideas and designs, and I’m always finding inspiration in places I wouldn’t expect.
Many ideas I write down, or make drawings. After some time I look at all the various ideas. Some of them I get all excited about, and my mind starts racing in how to make them. What I will need, and all the possible variations. While some others, to be honest, I am wondering what I was thinking.
My kids are important in my life and I am lucky that my son is a very talented photographer, besides being a great person. He helps me photograph my pieces in a way that only he can, and I love to watch him work. And my daughter, an aspiring actress, doubles as my willing (and very affordable!) model.
